Hunter Netball 14U boys, had the opportunity to participate in the Netball NSW 2023 HART Junior State Titles hosted by Camden Netball Association to kick off the July school holiday period.
Seven teams, took to the court over the one-day competition held on 1 July on an awesome winters' day, full of sunshine and just a light breeze making for perfect playing conditions.
Round One saw Hunter Netball take to the court against Penno Pumas from Pennant Hills and Hunter came out strong. Taking a round one win 12 to 5.
Round 2 and it was a familiar opponent, having taken to the court to Davidson in the 2022 season. Hunter Boys played a great game of netball taking the win 17 to 4.
Hunter Boys took on Liverpool City Netball Association in Round 3 and all ten boys showed a great display of netball taking the game 11 to 4.
The boys were on a roll, and round 4 saw them have a bye but the break didn't fair well with their winning streak and the took to the court in Round 5 against Tumut. Tumut put on a great display of aerobatic netball and Hunter faced their first loss of the day going down 28 to 5.
But they shook it off as they took to the court for Round 6 up against the recently selected NSW PSSA school team who will represent NSW at the National PSSA in the coming weeks in Perth WA. Hunter Netball took this game in their stride taking the win 16 to 7.
The final game of the tournament was a real nail biter up against Manly Warringah Netball Association in a low scoring and tight game Hunter Netball went down by one goal - Many 9 to Hunters 8.
After six games and a strong performance across the day the Hunter Boys were Runners Up and came away with the treasured blue patch.
A big thank you to Coach Anthony Jarvice and Team Manager Ash Robinson this is there second season with this group of boys and a fantastic result after a washed-out State Titles in 2022.
