A Season of Culture, Connection, and Courage
Hunter Netball’s 2025 Annual General Meeting held 9 October 2025 celebrated a season defined by culture, connection, and courage where our region truly lived our theme,
Challenge Yourself.
Chair Jodi Cassar PSM reflected on a year that strengthened pathways and performance across the Hunter. From the first whistle, Hunter Netball focused on recruiting, training, supporting, and retaining athletes, creating new opportunities for players from grassroots through to elite level.
Metro League Team 1 delivered an outstanding season, crowned Minor Premiers and Grand Final Champions, earning elevation to Division 4 for 2026. Team 2 showcased the region’s depth, building resilience and shared purpose under strong leadership.
Off the court, the success of 2025 was cultural. The launch of the Future Partners Pathway created a smoother transition for aspiring athletes, while regional achievements like Lakeside’s 12s State Championship and Port Stephens’ 17s Division 4 title highlighted a thriving Association pathway for athletes to move to the Metro League Pathway and beyond.
Hunter Netball also strengthened community partnerships through events like Girls Day Out – Women in Sport and the Aspire 11s Development Day, celebrating inclusivity, participation, and opportunity.
Jodi extended thanks to all Associations, coaches, officials, and community partners including Greater Bank, Purnells Awards & Apparel, McDonald’s Bennetts Green, and Bradford Creative for their continued support in turning ambition into action.
With more than 80 athlete nominations already received for 2026, Hunter Netball enters the new season with strong momentum, a proven pathway, and a shared commitment to excellence, wellbeing, and unity across the Hunter region.
The financial records of Hunter Netball were presented by Dianne Pascoe OAM and Wendy Archer AM provided an update on the ongoing infrastructure work Hunter Netball has been undertaking to ensure that a suitable indoor venue is achieved for our region.
