Girls Day Out is a one-day event for girls aged 5-16 years to try new sports. It is an opportunity to meet local female athletes from pre-elite to professionals, learn new skills and be inspired.
It’s all about giving girls a go at sports they might not have tried or want to learn more about. Encourage healthy bodies, healthy minds – and maybe even inspire our next generation of female superstars.
Hunter Netball held 45 minute - mini-clinics over three sessions between 10am to 1pm, giving the young girls a high-energy, fun taste of grassroots netball offered locally in the Hunter and played by incredible female athletes at the highest levels, from our Hunter Netball Metro League, the Netball NSW Swifts and GIANTS through to Australia's Diamonds.
The young girls are given a chance to see these extraordinary athletes are normal humans, who have achieved their goals through hard work and determination. It teaches young ones that their dreams are possible and achievable – whether that’s to play professional sport or to be anything they wish to be, because they are face to face with strong and amazing athletes who chased their dreams.
